5. Experiment with different positions for context

Weddings can be crowded and you will not always have that clear line of sight with guests undoubtedly in the way. It’s not necessarily a bad thing! Having extra people in the frame can actually give the picture more perspective. So get yourself in different positions and use them for context. For example – when I was photographing celebrities, Cara Delevingne, Selena Gomez, Alexa Chung and Catherine Deneuve I found that incorporating different positions made my photographs realistic by having other photographers in view.

 

 

6. Capture the movement

The part of a wedding where everyone starts dancing can be a bit of a challenge for any photographer. Especially with low light and lots of movement, blurring is inevitable. Here’s where a fast lens with wide aperture is your friend. I walked around the dance floor, set my aperture to be 1.8 (allowing me the shortest shutter speed time possible to reduce blurring) and took plenty of photo’s in succession.

Of course the most important dance is the first dance so don’t miss it (even when you’re queuing for the super tasty cake)! Clare and Tom looked particularly charming on their special day which made it easier for me to capture how much their marriage meant to each other. I hope you see it too in the photo’s.
