As there are countless types of lifestyle – there isn’t one right recipe for lifestyle photography. I’ve summed up several general tips which you can creatively adjust to your needs.

Tips are illustrated with my photographs which were taken in one of the most beautiful parts of London – Richmond. The idea was to capture the atmosphere of the late autumn walk with the evening golden hour light.

1. Keep it natural.

Lifestyle photographs shouldn’t be posed. Catch true expressions, movements and looks. Your audience wants to see the true situation where models are enjoying the moment and feeling comfortable.

To make your model act naturally in front of the camera read my guide about portrait photography.

2. Take close up pictures.

Capture face expressions, find the relaxed look and show the atmosphere of a day. Let people experience the model’s emotions. Remember – they always matter the most!

3. Add a bit of a mystery.

Enrich your pictures with a secret element. Allow each observer to see something different. Everyone has individual life experience so your photography can have various meanings. Make your art awaken imagination in others.
